President's Message

Hello members, I can’t believe it’s already Spring!  I’m writing this message after attending the annual banquet last night and I have to say it was so nice to see all of your smiling faces and to catch up!  I’m looking forward, and I’m sure you are too, to more of these types of events and meetings in the future.  To say it has been a crazy year is an understatement.  I know navigating these strange virtual times have not been easy for us but I feel that the Chapter did an amazing job staying connected and engaged in spite of the pandemic.  We have a number of events planned for the next few months and we really look forward to seeing everyone out at these events so please get on the website and sign up if you have not done so already!

This will probably be my last President’s message as my term is up in June so I’d like to take this opportunity to graciously thank the Board (and the Chapter) for your continued support and efforts.  It has been great getting to know each of you and working together these past 4 years.  I think many of the Board members would agree that serving on the Board is one of the most engaging and rewarding ways to be involved in the Chapter.  And, I’ve grown in ways I never could have imagined.  If you are interested in serving the Chapter in this regard please reach out to a Board member, you won’t regret it!  I’m proud to be a part of the West Michigan Chapter and I look forward to watching it grow and thrive in the future!

Special News

This years Shoot for Scholars event will include the traditional events that have been included every year. 50 rounds of sporting clays and 25 trap for a total of 75 birds for the main event. Back by popular demand, we will be holding the El Presidente pistol shoot. This event is a timed pistol shooting event where each participant will shoot 2 shots at 3 different steel plates, change the magazine, and repeat for a total of 12 shots. 1 second is added for each miss and the lowest time wins. The winner will receive an additional chance at the main raffle and a prize.

Speaking of the main raffle, we will be drawing prizes for 4 firearms at the end of the event. Everyone that enters will have a chance to win! Additional raffle tickets can be earned by breaking the green clays that will be randomly thrown for the machines throughout the day.

Following all of the shooting, the club puts on an amazing steak dinner. Its a green time for a great cause and is for shooters of all levels.

We hope to see you there!
